WOOTTON BASSETT to join Etreham Stud for the 2012 breeding season. Son of Iffraaj, the leading first season sire in 2010 with a record of 38 individual 2 years old winners and champion 2 years old in France, Wootton Bassett is a great addition to the Etreham roster. He brings speed, class and precocity.
Richard Fahey his trainer tells us “The good looking Wootton Bassett was an extremely talented two year old with gréât speed and class. Being unbeaten in five starts in only three months he was a very though horse. He had a fantastic tempérament and was a pleasure to train. I am very happy that he will be standing in France, where he was Champion two year old. He will have every chance there. I am looking forward to training his progeny.”
WOOTTON BASSETT was unbeaten in 5 starts at two and champion two years old in France with an impressive win in the Prix Jean Luc Lagardère Gr.1 on Arc day beating the Gr.1 winners Tin Horse and Moonlight Cloud by 5 and 6 lenghts. This performance made him the third best 2 years old in Europe behind Dream Ahead and Frankel with a rating of 120.
Nicolas de Chambure says” We are delighted to stand Wootton Bassett at Etreham. He was a champion two years old, he is a really nice horse with great presence and he has a great walk.
