A promising new year for SAINT DES SAINTS!

After a fantastic 2021 with 5 Gr.1 victories, SDS is already shining in 2022 with two new performances at Gr.1 level this weekend!

Ridden by Rachael Blackmore, Saint Sam came third in the Novice Steeplechase Gr.1 on Saturday at Leopardstown. The Willie Mullins-trained was also runner-up in the Spring Juvenile Hurdle Gr.1 last year.

On Sunday, Gaillard du Mesnil, finished third in the Ladbrokes Novice Steeplechase Gr.1 at Leopardstown under Bryan Cooper's saddle.

Aged 6, Gaillard du Mesnil had already notable victories:

  • Novice Hurdle Gr.1 Champion, Punchestown 2021
  • Novice Hurdle Gr.1 Leopardstown, 2021
