GOLIATH DU BERLAIS : LEADER OF FIRST CROP STALLIONS IN NOVEMBER ONCE AGAIN

With an average price of €39,000, the first yearlings of Goliath du Berlais generated intense interest at the Autumn Arqana sale. The figure is nearly €13,000 more than the average price for yearlings at the sale. Noteworthy purchases were made by Joey Logan (€90,000) and Nicolas Bertran de Balanda (€85,000) as well as Davide Satalia (€130,000) who signed the Top Price of the day on November 16 with the half-brother of our new jumps sire, Paradiso, based at Haras de la Tuilerie. Partners Hector de Lageneste and Guillaume Macaire also purchased one of the 19 yearlings offered, as did Devon-based trainer Nick Williams (€38,000) and Newmarket traders Highflyer Bloodstock (€55,000).

Several foals by Goliath du Berlais were also offered during this mixed sales session, their average price reaching €24,000. The Irishman Alan Harte left with a beautiful colt out of Nada Igual at €48,000 while Guy Petit paid €32,000 for a first foal of Muhta Style.

We will have to wait before seeing his first runners on track, however in the meantime, the quality of the products offered during this Arqana Autumn sale is a very positive indicator for this son of Champion Sire Saint des Saints. Goliath du Berlais is based at Haras de la Tuilerie in Argentan and will operate at a fee of €7,500 in 2023.
