LATROBE : the new sire, winner of over €1 million in 18 races, has his first mares confirmed in foal

The best stallion son of Camelot, who stands at Coolmore for a fee €60,000, Latrobe is a grandson of Montjeu who retired to stud in good health following an excellent racing career. Trained by Joseph O’Brien, he recorded 12 places at the highest level and three wins including the Gr.1 Irish Derby, beating Rostropovitch and Saxon Warrior.

These include the Gr.2 third and Listed victrix at Auteuil, Oklahoma Seven and Singuna, a half-sister to Listed scorer Sarabia.

During his first covering season at the Haras de la Tuilerie, the handsome dark bay will be presented to the Listed winner Drole d’Histoire, Gr.3 third and three-time Listed scorer Kada Rique, Kalikova who is none other than the Irish Wells half-sister to Gr.1 Prix Ferdinand Dufaure heroine Kotkikova, La Vista, a half-sister to La Segnora, winner of the Gr.1 Grand Prix d’Automne, La Grande Zohra, half-sister to Gr.3 victrix and €200,000 earner Meredith, and also Enduring Bliss, a Manduro half-sister to the remarkable and versatile Gr.1 winner Kasbah Bliss and Bliss For Ever, winner yesterday over hurdles at Auteuil.
