HARAS D’ETREHAM & WIDDEN STUD join forces to purchase 3x G1W HOTAZHELL

Son of the champion TOO DARN HOT and out of a dam by Danehill Dancer from the family of champion Alexander Goldrun, Hotazhell boasts all the qualities of the Dubawi line: precocity, speed and toughness. His turn of foot and his determination constitute solid assets to become a leading stallion and he represents an excellent opportunity for European and Australian breeders. 

Hotazhell proved himself to be one of the leading colts of his generation in Europe as a juvenile, earning a rating of 117. He won three Group titles including the Gr.1 Doncaster Futurity Stakes, notably beating Delacroix.

After being placed in the Irish Guineas at three years old, he returned to the top level this year to score in the Gr.1 Irish Champion Stakes. On each of his three Gr.1successes, he demonstrated a remarkable will to win and dauntless courage. On the go since the Breeze-Up sales at two, Hotazhell has raced in four different countries, proving his excellent constitution. Jessica Harrington stated, “Hotazhell has been a joy to train.  He’s tough, sound, consistent and following his win in the Irish Champions Stakes he has proven what we have always known, he’s a brilliant racehorse." 

Too Darn Hot is already the sire of eight Group 1 winners and belongs to a rare group of stallions which have enjoyed success in both hemispheres. Hotazhell will be his first son to stand at stud in Europe.

He is a horse we have followed closely and genuinely believe is ideally suited to the Australian market. He has an outstanding racing profile, having been a Group 1 winner at two in Great Britain before going on to win the Irish Champion Stakes last weekend, one of Europe's great WFA races and easily comparable in significance to Australia’s Cox Plate.

Hotazhell will next target Champions Day at Ascot before joining Haras d’Etreham. Nicolas de Chambure added, “We are absolutely delighted at the prospect of welcoming a horse of Hotazhell’s calibre to Etreham for the 2027 season.
