The First Generation of Metropolitan Hits the Ground

Haras d’Etreham is delighted to announce the arrival of the first foals by Metropolitan, born over the past few days. Early feedback from breeders has been extremely positive, describing foals with size, presence and strong physical attributes.

Among these first foals are a bay filly out of Couleur Café, born at Haras de Montaigu, a bay colt out of Sand Rose, also foaled at Haras de Montaigu, a chestnut filly out of Kiss Love at Haras d’Ombreville and a bay filly out of Marmelet, born at Haras des Marais. In Ireland, a bay filly out of Vadsariya was foaled at Manister House Stud, praised for her conformation by Luke Barry.

These first births mark an important milestone in the stallion career of this remarkable son of Zarak, unbeaten at two and winner of the Poule d’Essai des Poulains (Gr.1), and confirm the strong interest generated by his profile and exceptional physical qualities.

Nicolas de Chambure, Director of Haras d’Etreham, commented:“These first foals fully reflect what we hoped Metropolitan would transmit. They show presence, size and lot of quality.”

Metropolitan also made a strong impression during the recent Route des Étalons, where professionals and breeders alike praised the quality of his presentation, his balanced conformation and his presence. His 2025 breeding season took place under very good conditions, with nearly 130 mares covered, reflecting the confidence of both French and international breeders.
